Hinges and latches are not glamorous. But in my experience, more rework comes from misaligned doors than from bad saw cuts. And most of that rework could be avoided by adjusting the right hinge first, then checking the latch—not the other way around.

What about the "I can't afford premium tools" argument?

I hear this one all the time. I used to say it myself. But here's the thing: a cheap router bit can burn a door, destroy a sheet of plywood, or waste an afternoon of setup. That cost adds up fast. Precision cutting tools and properly adjusted hardware are not luxuries. They're the difference between a clean production run and a string of expensive do-overs.
